Parks, Jared

Jared Parks is the senior director of advocacy and external affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Intellectual Property Center (GIPC). He is responsible for developing and implementing integrated strategies to promote the importance of intellectual property (IP) both at the state level and inside the Beltway.

To this end, Parks engages third party advocacy groups, state and local chambers of commerce, grassroots organizations grasstops leaders, academics, and business/industry IP stakeholders to form strategic partnerships to raise the profile of IP and promote its importance to jobs, economic growth, and competiveness. He also ensures that these messages are heard on Capitol Hill and within the Administration.Parks has significant experience in government, advocacy, and politics. This includes service in the George W. Bush administration as a politically-appointed legislative aide to the Secretary of Commerce, where he focused on legislative issues relating to trade, economic development, and immigration. He has also worked in government relations advocacy for clients in the financial services arena, and has experience working with political campaigns at the congressional and presidential levels.Originally from Rhode Island, Parks lives on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. He earned his undergraduate degree as an honors program scholar at the George Washington University, where he studied international relations with a concentration in international economics.
