Pascal Salin

Pascal Salin is Emeritus Professor of Economics, Paris University, and is the actual President of what is probably the oldest free-market think-tank in France: ALEPS (Association pour la Liberté et le Progrès Social). He is also former president of the Mont Pelerin Society, Member of the Advisory Board of The Independent Institute.

He received his Ph.D. in economics from the Université Paris-Dauphine and is a Knight of the Légion d’Honneur, and an Officer of the Ordre national du Mérite. Previously he has been a consultant to the International Monetary Fund, government of Niger, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, and Harvard Institute for International Development.

His many books include L’ordre monétaire mondial, La vérité sur la monnaie, Macroéconomie, Libre-échange et protectionnisme, La concurrence, L’arbitraire fiscal ou comment sortir de la crise, Libéralisme; Français, n’ayez pas peur du libéralisme; and Revenir au capitalisme, pour éviter les crises. He most recently published “Competition and Free Trade” (Rootledge 2018.)
